Make sure your network device drivers are up-to-date:
- Update your network device drivers.
- Make sure your speed setting (found under device settings) are set to maximum.
- Make sure your Duplex setting are set to 'Full Duplex'.
Update Routers Firmware:
- Before updating please backup your routers settings.
- Updating 'Routers Firmware' will help to access maximum speed.
Get Optimized Connection:
- In case of WiFi connections switch to ISP located near your locality.
- If your not able to find an ISP near you then swith to Wired LAN.
Buy a Download Manager:
- There are number of download managers available in the market such as: IDM, Flash Get etc. buy any of them & enjoy increased speeds
- In addition if you are not able to buy a Manager then you can download freeware (Free of cost) available on internet such as: Fresh Download.
Avoid Excessive Uploading, Downloading & Updating:
- Generally these tasks consume most of the speed of your connection & your network slows down.
- Technically, it stresses your limited 'Bandwith' lowering your speeds.
Optimize Antenna of Your WiFi Router:
- In a WiFi router signal is broadcasted 360 in degrees, thus you lose full broadcasting.
- To use full signal it is possible to use a tin or generally Aluminium foil.
- Wrap it around your antenna, making a cone & direct it where to want maximum signals to be received.
It may also be noted that if you are using low bandwith connections such as EDGE, GPRS or other slow connections then above steps can increase your speeds to a certain extent as fixed by respective ISP's.
