Android is the second most trending thing after Facebook of our generation, almost 80% of us use Android enabled smartphone with its vast variety of applications. But have you ever wondered if we can use those tonnes of apps on PC too, it would be a great idea isn't it? If you think the same then you are on right place, in this article i'm going to show you how you can Run Android applications on PC. Basically running apps on inter-platform is referred to as Emulation as i have discussed earlier about "how to emulate PS2 Games on pc using PCSX2" here i will use 'Bluestacks' to emulate Android apps So lets get started.

What You Will Require?

Though there are many software for emulation of android apps but i consider Bluestacks to be the best relating to its GUI (Global User Interface) & also do not require any expertise to command the whole emulation. So initially you will require Bluestacks Software which you download as below.
Note that full installer comprises of all the sort of requisites for the software to run properly, so i recommend you to download it.

How To Install & Configure?

  • Installing an application is a simple process just follow as it appears.

  • You are now ready to use Bluestacks, just download apps from 1Mobile market.

  • First app i had installed is Temple run, of which i've provided screenshot too.

How to Configure Tilt Command?

The time you thought everything is going to be right in this world & finally you are going to play some cool android games on you PC, you remembered of tilting actions required to move during gameplay. You need not to worry if you are not able to tilt till now its easy as hell. Suppose i want to perform tilt in Temple run then here's how you can do it -

  • Open App Library -  Usually all the installed apps automatically comes up there, it can be found at the desktop.

  • Open Properties -Now open properties of corresponding game which you want to configure. Copy whole target field, for temple run it was as -

    "C:\Program Files\BlueStacks\HD-RunApp.exe" Android com.imangi.templerun2 com.unity3d.player.UnityPlayerProxyActivity"
You require only "com.imangi.templerun2" copy it.

  • Open This -

    "C:\ProgramData\BlueStacks\UserData\InputMapper"

  • Create a Text File- After you ahve opened the above directory, create a new text file and paste the following code in it.

# Temple Run

[origin]

Author = www.howtologist.com

Rating = 4.5

[keys]

Up = Swipe Up

Down = Swipe Down

Left = Swipe Left

Right = Swipe Right

Z = Tilt Absolute (0,-100) Return

X = Tilt Absolute (0,100) Return

[guidance]

Up = Jump

Down = Slide

Left = Turn Left

Right = Turn Right

Z = Move to Left Lane

X = Move to Right Lane

[opensensor]

Mode = Tilt
  • Save As - After have a copied & pasted the above codings, save the text file as "com.imangi.templerun2.cfg" (without quotes) in the same directory where you have already made the text file.

  • Test Tilt - Now test if tilt functions is working or not. You will now be able to tilt during gameplay. This configuration works for all games supporting tilt functions. In case tilt function is still not working, ask us to do it for you!

Troubleshooting -

Sometimes it is observed that installation hangs up so i recommend to use full installer. Additionally if after installation Bluestacks doesn't run then try installing it over again.
